Camper-vans on hardstanding in the steading yard.

On fields adjacent to steading, as used for the 2011 S6D Day 3..

Small number of Portable Toilets at the steading yard.

Hired dibbers and maps for White and Yellow will be available at the Enquiries tent.

First mapped by Stirling Surveys for the 1993 British Senior Squad selection race.

 

Used and updated for the 1994 Scottish Championships, the 1996 British Championships,

 

the 2011 Scottish 6-Day Day3, and miscellaneous other events.

High quality runnable oak and birch woodland and rough open.

 

Detailed contours and very few line features.

 

First used by the British Senior Squad for one of the 1993 selection races.

Entries are likely to open in mid March, with an early bird entry date of Monday 17th April.

 

Dog restrictions

Dogs Dogs are allowed in the car park fields only, may be walked on leads but under strict control at all times. Dog poo must be removed as the fields are grazed by sheep (and Highland cattle).

 

Miscellaneous

Prize-Giving

The prize giving will be at the relay event in conjunction with the relay prize giving.

 

There are individual trophies for the competitors who qualify as 'Scots' for the winners of the Long Courses of age classes M10 to M80 and W10 to W75, with the exception of M/W21 for which the trophies are awarded to the Elite classes M/W21E for three categories: overall winner, native Scot, and fastest member of a Scottish club.

 

There are also Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the first three in each of the A, L and E classes (not the B or S classes). Trophy Eligibility:

 

All members of Scottish open clubs (where that club is their main or first club) shall automatically be recognised as “Scots”. All other orienteers claiming to be a “Scot” must notify the organiser before the event.

 

An orienteer qualifies as a “Scot” if any of the following is/are true:

 

They were born in Scotland.

One of their parents was born in Scotland.

They are a current member of the Scottish Orienteering Association.
