Over 400 boys and girls from 18 schools across Ayrshire competed this year. The Secondary Schools trophy was won by Carrick Academy, the Primary Schools trophy by Gargieston Academy, and the Small schools Trophy by Fisherton Primary School

World Championships inspiring a new generation to map and compass
Organisers of the World Orienteering Championships being held in the Highlands of Scotland this summer have acknowledged the concerns expressed over children no longer routinely learning basic map reading skills in schools.
The results are now available.
More than 250 pupils from all over Ayrshire enjoyed this year’s event on Wednesday 30th May at North Ayrshire Council Magnum centre. Interesting courses set by Jane Cherry over the northern end of the Beach Park provided ample challenge to both the primary and secondary students.
