Event Details
AYROC's next orienteering activity will be held at Dundonald Woods on Saturday 16th March 2024. There will be Yellow, Orange and Green courses.
The map of this wooded hillside to the west of Dundonald Castle has only been used once before although in the past the club did use the area. The terrain is mixed woodland with a number of paths which are very muddy and slippery at present.
Hillhouse Quarries are the owners and operate the quarry to the west.
Dundonald can be approached from the A78, the A77 and the west of Kilmarnock.
Please park carefully in the streets of the village or at the school (access via Castle Drive), please do not use the Castle car park as there are only a few spaces in this. The Start will be signposted from the Castle visitor centre.

From the Castle Car Park walk down hill, past the football field and then along a path for about 100ms. The start and registration as well as First Aid will be on your right in an open area, before reaching the woods.
There are customer toilets available at the Castle cafe and the Garden Centre, Drybridge Road.
