Event Details

AYROC's December activity will be orienteering in the dark at Belleisle Park on Saturday 14th December 2024 at 5.00pm.

There will be a long course (4km 13 controls) and a short course (2.3 km 8 controls). Both courses are at a high level of difficulty, TD5, in the dark. Novices and children should be able to complete the courses by themselves or be accompanied by a competent orienteer. AYROC have head torches for people to borrow.

Belleisle park is a small wooded area which is around the now derelict Belleisle House with many paths and butting onto the Golf Course.

Parking will be in the Golf Course Car Park, which can be found from the A77 Alloway turn off (there may be a diversion due to roadworks but it will be signposted), by following Doonholm Road going straight at the small roundabout, Murdoch's Loan, pass the Burns Birthplace Museum and turn right at the T junction. At the next mini roundabout turn left down Greenfield Avenue, golf course on the right. At the T junction turn right and after approximately 500 metres turn right into Belleisle Park and Golf Course.
