AYROC orienteering activity at the small Cambusdoon Park area in Alloway, Ayr.
 
Start times from 11 a.m.
 
There will be a Yellow and a Map Memory course.
 
There will be an option to do the memory course using a map, if so desired.
 

Cambusdoon Park is a small area near the River Doon in Alloway, an estate which housed a school, now demolished and currently owned by South Ayrshire Council. This is a training map at 1:2500. The area has a large playing field and a deciduous woodland sloping down to the river. The usual leg cover and whistle are recommended. Dogs on leads only.

£5 per family and £2 per individual, strictly cash on the day, exact change only. Pre entry only by filling in the Google form.

Entries close at 10.30 pm on Thursday 16th June 2022 (this is to allow enough time to print maps).

 

 Travelling South on the A77 take the junction signposted for Alloway and the Burns Museum, take the first exit at the small roundabout then pass the Burns Monument on the left. At the T junction turn right on to the street named Alloway . There is parking on the right of this road and this should be used in preference to using the residential streets, such as Shanter Way.

Public Transport: there are buses which pass along Alloway, see Traveline Scotland.

There are no public toilets in Cambusdoon Park but the Burns Monument and Rozelle House has facilities.

Registration/Assembly/Download/First Aid will be in the park near the entrance. Spare clothing, keys and so on can be left at Registration.
