Event Details
The next Orienteering activity will be at Fullarton Woods on Saturday 13th April 2024 at 11.00am.
This will be a Butterfly event with a number of loops of increasing technical difficulty which is ideal for beginners who can choose to do as many as they wish. People with more expertise can also benefit from it when they use it as a map memory training.
Fullarton Woods is one of the Estates which is owned by South Ayrshire Council. It was the grounds of Fullarton House, which is no longer standing but there is a wooded area with many paths and play areas butting on to one of Troon’s Golf Courses and the Rugby Pitches.
The car park is situated beyond the Courtyard building.

Fullarton can be approached from either the A78, when the B746 junction for Troon should be taken and then Isle of Pin Road, following signs to Mar Rugby Club and Fullarton. The alternative is to take Monktonhill Road B749 off the A79 and follow this along to the turning on the right, Isle of Pin Road to Mar Rugby Club and Fullarton Woods.
There are toilets beside the car park.
Troon has many cafes which are open on Saturdays.
