Dean Castle Country Park is a 200-acre rural valley park with woodland paths, open grass areas, play areas and tearoom, around a 14th century castle museum.
There is a cafe at the Visitor Centre which is open between 9.30 and 3.30 and provides Toilets.
Orienteers take part at their own risk. A risk assessment will have been carried out however the following should be noted. Care should be taken underfoot as there are uneven paths and there could be mud in places. Dean Park is popular so there will be many other users and consideration should be given to them, including dog walkers.
First Aid will be available from one of AYROC's members who has First Aid training.

Location Info
From the A77 the park is approached via the B7038, Glasgow Road then take Dean Road and left into the car park. (This may be busy because there is often football and the Parkrun on a Saturday morning).
Buses can be taken from the centre of Kilmarnock along Glasgow Road to the end of Dean Road which is then a short walk to the park entrance.
